Modern society, buttered by successes in science and technology, has progressed considerably in the physical welfare of the humanity.

Modern society, buttered by successes in science and technology, has progressed considerably in the physical welfare of the humanity. However whether the zealous material progress and total spiritual apathy has actually made people problem free and happy is open to question. Individually, anxiety, stress, depression, alcoholism, suicides etc are alarmingly spiralling. Socially ethics and moral values are almost lost and globally we are haunted by the spectres of terrorism. As a pure spirit soul, each individual is primarily blissful and happy in nature. However being victimized by the unhealthy and competitive lifestyles, the youth especially are experiencing the resultant frustrations. Newspaper reports reveal increasing youth related crimes, a sad consequence of blind, hedonistic pursuits, championed by the modern society.

Our youth programs are meant to help the youths in the critical parts of their lives to attain stability and permanent happiness through the dissemination of Vedic culture and way of life. All efforts in FOLK are directed towards this purpose. We request all youths to take complete advantage of it.

We help youth achieve this goal by conducting various courses, seminars, presentations and group discussions on Bhagavad-Gita and Vedic philosophy and teaching their scientific application in daily lives, we give complete knowledge of the advanced principles of Vedic life. Presently we offer a workshop titled “Yoga for Happiness”.

Yoga for Happiness

This is a 6 day workshop conducted on 6 consecutive Sundays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.  The following topics will be discussed in the workshop:

  • Self Management – The key to Happiness
  • Yoga – The Root of all Happiness
  • Relationships – The Foundation of Happiness
  • Karma – The Mystery of Happiness
  • Diet for Happiness
  • Habits for Happiness

Methodology

We conduct various interactive sessions for students and other individuals. An interactive session is usually in a lecture form, which lasts for 2 hours. Here, the participants get a chance to learn through sharing their doubts, experiences and comments with the speaker. The speaker in turn conducts group activities and games to make the learning process more interesting. The various methods used in the workshop are as follows:
