Sri Balarama Poornima – On 31st August 2023

It is said in Mundaka Upanishad “nayam atma bala hinena labhyo”. To become spiritually strong, one should obtain the mercy of Sri Balaram. A special occasion to obtain His mercy is Sri Balaram Jayanthi.

In our temple, the celebrations begin at 6pm with Narasimha Kirtan and Tulasi arati. This is followed by pallakki utsav. A grand abhishekham to the deities of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram is the highlight of the festival. Their Lordships are bathed with milk, curd, ghee, honey, jaggery water, fruit juices and aromatic oils. A special lecture is given on this occasion about Balarama’s appearance, activities and its significance. Meanwhile, Chappan bhog is being offered to Sri Sri Krishna Balarama. Then Sri Sri Krishna Balaram receives a grand arati with ISKCON Hubli-Dharwad. The celebrations comes to an end with prasadam distribution to all devotees.

This year we are celebrating Sri Balarama Poornima on Thursday, 31st August 2023.

Offer Sevas on this auspicious occasion and seek the blessings of Lord Sri Balarama
