Sri Gaura Poornima – On 25th March 2024

Srila Prabhupada says, “When Krishna was personally present He simply asked us to surrender, but He did not distribute Himself so easily. He made conditions—“First of all you surrender.” But Lord Chaitanya, although Krishna Himself, makes no such condition. He simply distributes: “Take love of Krishna.” Therefore Lord Chaitanya is approved as the most munificient incarnation.”

At ISKCON Hubli-Dharwad, the most munificient incarnation, Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s appearance day is celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm every year at ISKCON Hubli-Dharwad. The entire temple is decorated with quintals of flowers which kindled the festival spirit.

The festival starts in the evening around 6pm with Narasimha Kirtan followed by Tulasi arati. Gaura-Nitai deities are then mounted on a pallaki and taken on a stroll through the temple gardens.

A grand abhishekam follows the Pallakki Utsav, with the blowing of auspicious conchshell. The Maha-Abhishekam is followed by Pravachan. The next item of the day’s program is an elaborate arati to the deities.

All the devotees who assemble to celebrate this auspicious occasion of Lord Chaitanya’s appearance are served with sumptuous prasadam. The devotees who fast on this day are served with special non-grain prasadam.

This year we are celebrating Sri Gaura Poornima on Monday, 25th March 2024

Offer Sevas on this auspicious occasion and seek the blessings of Lord Sri Chaitanya.
